LAURA LEDBETTER creates works on paper, with intricately drawn and cut paper appliqué. These pieces focus on issues of uncertainty and surprise that dominate our modern society. The imagined environments seem appealing from a glance, but upon further investigation reveal concern about our cultural and economic position. Ledbetter has her MFA in sculpture from Syracuse University, and her BFA in sculpture from Baylor University in Texas. She has participated in many exhibitions throughout the Northeast since 2002.
