Pentimenti is pleased to present North Carolina Tape Drawings, an online exhibition, featuring works by gallery artist Erik Spehn, created during his sojourn in North Carolina.
“Over the better part of the past two decades, I have utilized the cast-off masking tape used in the process of making my larger paintings to make smaller, more intimate works on paper. Though abstract, it is undeniable that these Tape Drawings, more often than not, evoke the landscape. This is especially evident in the new drawings I made during my recent summer sojourn in Black Mountain, North Carolina, nestled high in the Blue Ridge Mountains and home of the famed former Black Mountain College. And Bigfoot.”
