OPENING Reception: SATURDAY, MARCH 16, 5:00 - 7:00 PM
For Swifts, Kevin Finklea presents an outdoor installation of one of his brilliantly painted wooden objects. Carefully selected lumber, deliberately constructed form and masterful application of rare pigments are at the forefront of this transcendent work. Finklea’s exploration of translucency and opacity paired with his juxtaposition of subtle color value variations and tonal interactions lead to work that appears to shift with the light and angle of viewing. This piece invites viewers to spend time with the work, challenging them to contemplate the personal experience of viewing art, and rewarding those who approach the work with thoughtful consideration.
